The Ultimate Puzzle
“The Labyrinth, as would any maze, has puzzle-like characteristics; obeying the rules of puzzle-solving, should, if the laws of the maze are understood and the signs are read correctly, enable us to voyage consciously, as well as remember previous passages and having a connected overview which takes into account everything we have ever learned in the maze.”
In this chapterĀ – The Ultimate Puzzle – E.J. Gold begins to lay out some of the characteristics we find as we voyage into the labyrinth spaces.
We are given some first definitions. These are markers we can and will use to help each of us decode the structures we do and will enter.
The “factors which allow movement can be discovered by the attentive voyager only during the course of INTENTIONAL involvement in the game.”
Once again, the burden is placed upon the voyager. We must bring our “game” to the table here. This is not a path whereby we learn and learn academic subtleties. For that, read the Master Bead game. We are seeking to learn actual tools of movement. Thus, yes, we have to be present.
Okay – some of the hints dropped:
p. 18 – The ability to think in new categories and extend the boundaries of one’s presence are the two most important tools we have available. We think we understand these concepts, but, they become operable when we launch into the voyaging chambers. When in the heat of the maze chamber, can you KNOW as a tool, that “I must extend the boundaries of my presence?”
p.19 – “Chambers refer to the morphology of any stabilized field anomaly.” This is a pointer for field work. Can you point to such a chamber? What about right now?
There are more in the chapter. We are getting some of the first definitions of what we will find and some hints of how to act. The “how to act” part, means developing a form of Bardo Etiquette. What this means and how it might apply is an important part of our discovery. We now know more that we think we do. It is time to point to those choices and, by doing so, enhance their potency.
I will close this introduction to the chapter by pointing to the last paragraph in the chapter.
“We are connected, roped together, for the duration; an exploration team, each dependent upon the others and, unless we are one of those rare birds, a macrodimensional lone ranger, it is only as a team that we can develop our work.”
Thus, at some point we will ask, what it might mean to be a team.
