Being the Absolute
Although the Absolute cannot directly alter the Creation, it can, over a very long period of objective time, using repeated passages through the Creation, produce change by the radiating power of influence.
E.J. Gold opens the chapter with the following phrase: “Being the Absolute is like never-ending Baptism” This is total immersion. We are not prepared for that leap. Some of the literature about this event says, we become something different. We are no longer what we started as. But, what we can do is take on a bit more each passage. The sense of our Home returns grows in us as we open more and more to this form of self-annihilation. We are becoming less of our mechanical self and more and more of our divine self. But, of course we become something different. We are involuntarily drawn back to our manifestation and at the same time drawn upwards toward the home of the Absolute.
Each passage reminds us of what we missed last time. As we get closer as we approach our goal, we remember each time, what we missed last time. We develop a deepening sense of Regret. This Regret is not a regret of temporal matters, but rather a regret borne by the knowledge of our great opportunity here in this manifestation. We load one more tool into our Tool Kit of Return – Regret.
As some point we sense that there is really no one “out there” with whom we can find real help. We look desperately outside ourselves for answers, and we get clues. At some point it begins to dawn on us that there is no final help. There is no silver bullet of salvation. We begin to see, there is only one source for those final answers, the yearning we sense of for our Self. The answer is truly within.
We recall that we are given this chance for life on the planet Earth. It carries unique opportunities. The opportunity to transform the Spirit into Soul. We were invited into the Home of the Absolute, we are given the full complement of hospitality. How then, can we return the gift?

Being the Absolute, Chapter 5 Summary

The Absolute is Suffering
Alone and timeless, with the creation of visions and hallucinations. This is the creation of the Absolute done involuntarily. No memory retained. Only dreams.
The Great Return
This involuntary process of being drawn back by the in breath of the absolute is called the great return. To me I am reminded of the movie, Groundhog Day. We chose this life for the purpose of perfecting our being. How exactly can I return the hospitality of the absolute? By extending consciousness into both worlds though the method of awaking the machine, the two become one, reminiscent of the wedding ceremony in the Bible.
The Absolute Needs Our Help
To pass through the creation again and again and experience it and therefore gain Being, which is influence. Absolute is non phenomenal and the phenomenon is the creation, which will always be the same. It ends and begins. In life and death, the Absolute is crucified always. Spirit needs material. Both are material, yet spirit is finer, whereas organic life is more course. How to keep them together is key.
Absolute’s Work with Man
It is for man to enter the creation and have the sensation for the absolute within. The Father of the creation is sensation. The absolute must sense itself through passing through and paying attention. Critical attention as a Diamond Cutter and Polisher does a Diamond. The subjective can work in small ways for the Objective.
On Having a Soul
A soul is formed within a machine that is awake. While everything is spirit not everything has a soul. We need to be engaged in the transformation process under the laws of work like compassion duty and voluntary Crucifixion for the sake of absolute, we take upon ourselves a small part of the suffering of the absolute.
Unite two Worlds and the Descent of Grace
The non phenomenal and the phenomenal must be united. In order to enter the Kingdom a reciprocal work is needed. The subjective must not rely on being separate, but to contact the world of the Absolute, by placing yourself on the cross, and helping the Absolute. This will actually call for the PITY of Absolute, “The Descent of Grace” Jacobs Ladder, the Ascent and Descent being observed and watched. The descent of grace makes it possible to work in the work not just of the work because we take on a small part of the suffering. Sensation is the intermediate step to an imaginary descent from the cross into the phenomenal world
Suffering
Suffering is not bodily pain, but rather the experience of the aloneness of the Oneness and knowing there is no one out there to come and help. It is giving up the false idea of others, and separate self, and taking on the Duty, Compassion and Voluntary Crucifixion. To accept the same that the Absolute has accepted.
