The Lighting Rod Function

If one can determine the present posture of the Absolute, one is able, by the principle of Resonance, to assume this posture and with an awakened biological machine, act as a lighting rod, consciously ascend the Cross and momentarily change places with the Absolute.

Each week the work before us gets a bit more difficult. In this chapter E.J. Gold is presenting a new and difficult challenge. Is it worth the stretch? How can we even know? As Spinoza tells us: “All things excellent are as difficult as they are rare.”

But, how will I know if this push, this effort is excellent? Ah, therein lies the rub. Part of our job is to develop some tools of discernment that allows one to begin to understand clearly and distinctly when one is clearly at the beginnings of an elevated space. How does one know? Well, one really doesn’t “know” at first. What then can one do? Let’s us start first with what one should NOT do.

We must start by concentrating on a single concept we learned in chapter 9. There we began to discuss in detail a new orientation from which to live ones life. Most of the time, we are concerned with the “outer” world. What are the elements going on around me? Am I liked? Am I causing disturbances? Am I successful? Am I not successful? Those elements all comet to play in our normal life as a human. We are mainly motivated by and get our signals from our outer view of life.

However, we are invited now to re-orient our Selves. Instead of starting with the outer, let us then, start from a fresh point of view. That point of view is an inner point of view. Can you begin to sense a point of view from within? Are you able to discern a moment when you, only YOU can discern what is a higher space. A time when you have tasted of the higher? Okay, maybe it is not easy to do as you look forward. Maybe it is not easy to do right now?

How does one develop the tools of inner discernment?

This then is the heart of the matter in this chapter. Once we have those tools, we can develop the sense of discernment more exactly. Only then, can we begin to develop the mechanism to deepen our ability to hold more and more of those precious moments. Once we have so developed a string of those moments, then we can begin to deepen our ability to hold more and more of that energy, more and more of that cleansing radiation of the higher. We develop a capacity to hold more.

We have then begun the process of standing in the position of the Lighting Rod.

Chapter 10 Summary

We are told that we are made in the image of God. Yet many of us fail to fully understand what this means. Many images come to mind  of paintings, portraits and images of a Christ figure with a glowing yellow halo around the head and  one hand held up or covering the cross, maybe even with the  universal flaming heart wrapped with thorns… or picture god depicted as whatever race and skin color we ourselves have.  We have effectively made god in our image rather than striving to understand how we are made in the image or likeness of God, the Absolute.

Being in likeness: our organic body being a duplicate of the Adamic body, having sympathetic resonance and made in the image of the Absolute means that we have the unique capacity to vibrationally resonate at the same rate or frequency. Yet having the capacity is far different from actually doing it, and to do it we need to build our tolerance and ability to ground and endure, and open the pathway for the electrical current to flow through. This creates a need to develop higher bodies, which are better able to endure the associated shock than the organic body.

Not only can we as individuals develop our capacity but we as group can do this also, as we provide reminders, openings, and opportunities for us to gather and access invocational chambers. We move together and even though only one or two or a few of us will experience the lightning, we as a group can more easily provide a space where it is more likely to happen. Each time the channel is opened we are deepening the groove, wearing the path, and reinforcing and reestablishing the path for the current to travel down. It is at these moments that we have the opportunity to acquiesce to a higher dimension and a bit more of the available cleansing radiation.

We learn that through the practice of awakening the machine and invoking beings closer to our dimension, we can increase our tolerance and endurance, and be able to eventually take on the posture of the Absolute and glimpse the true magnitude of the work, our work.
